The Behavioral Health Consultant provides vital primary care-based behavioral health services to clients facing complex or chronic needs, tailored as per the specific treatment or care plan determined for each client. Deliver counseling or therapeutic services as part of an integrated care team in collaboration with primary care providers. We welcome applications from both PsyD/PhD clinical psychologists and independently licensed Master's-level mental health therapists.

Position Highlights:

• For Clinical Psychologists:
  • $5,000 hiring bonus paid with the initial paycheck.
  • $59.13/hour compensation.
• For Master’s-Level Independently Licensed Therapists:
  • $2,500 hiring bonus in the first paycheck, plus an additional $1,000 bonus at 12 months.
  • $49.28/hour compensation.

What You'll Do:

• Deliver on-site behavioral health services in a primary care clinic.
• Provide consultations with providers to enhance patient care.
• Function as the primary mental health provider or serve ancillary health roles as necessary.
• Work collaboratively with the care team, integrating accurate ICD-11 mental health diagnoses within treatment frameworks.
• Champion equitable biopsychosocial-spiritual care aiming at optimal team and patient outcomes.
• Utilize culturally informed, evidence-based approaches to support shared decision-making regarding health behaviors.
• Collaborate in interdisciplinary teams to create insightful treatment plans and advocate for patients.
• Conduct training sessions for staff and community organizations, sharing areas of expertise.
• Assist in developing funding proposals for research initiatives.
• Coordinate with other providers for effective referral management.
• Provide backup support for fellow providers as needed.
• May oversee patient assignments to team clinicians.
• Carry out clinical responsibilities adhering to The Joint Commission, HRSA, APA standards, and YVFWC requirements.
• Represent the program in meetings at the request of leadership.
• Contribute to the creation of new programming opportunities related to behavioral health.

Qualifications:

Clinical Psychologist Requirements:

• Education: PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology.
• Preferred Experience: One year of clinical experience in a multidisciplinary primary care setting and one year working with children, adolescents, and families in specialty behavioral health.
• Licenses/Registration: Licensed Psychologist in the respective practicing state. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 45 days of hire.

Master's Level Therapist Requirements:

• Education: Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
• Required Experience: Two years post-master's experience providing direct treatment of individuals with mental illness, under the supervision of a qualified mental health professional. Alternatively, Washington State designation as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) can fulfill this requirement.
• Licenses/Certificates/Registration: BLS certification within 45 days of hire is necessary. One of the following licenses is required (must apply within one week of hire if not current):
  • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).

Additional Requirements:

Bilingual skills in English/Spanish are preferred but not mandatory.
