Job Title: Paralegal
Location: Bellevue, WA - Hybrid. - with 3 days a week in the office
Experience Level: Minimum 3 years relevant experience

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal to support our legal and compliance teams in managing state licensing and registration requirements for financial services operations. This role is ideal for someone with a strong legal research background and hands-on experience in regulatory compliance, particularly in financial services.

Key Responsibilities

• Support attorneys in resolving routine legal issues and preparing legal documents (briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts).
• Research and analyze legal sources including statutes, judicial decisions, legal codes, and articles.
• Manage licensing and registration requirements across multiple states:
• Engage financial services attorneys to ensure licensure alignment.
• Process renewals and payments to state agencies in partnership with Finance.
• Maintain accurate records of licensing confirmations.

• Monitor state agency portals and the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) for updates and notifications.
• Submit e-filings for authorized financial services activities (e.g., profile updates, financial statements, renewals).
• Use dashboards to track licensing tasks by due date and status for transparency and accountability.
• Serve as a key point of contact with state agencies.

  Technology Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with RegTech tools for compliance workflows, task tracking, and milestone management.
  • Power BI experience is a major plus.

  A Typical Day Might Include

  • Evaluating licenses for upcoming renewal seasons and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Ensuring timely renewals to meet Compliance Management Program (CMP) obligations.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to gather reporting insights.
  • Submitting accurate company information to NMLS or other portals.
  • Coordinating with in-house attorneys and subject matter experts to ensure compliance alignment.
  • Upholding high standards of compliance, security, and stakeholder trust.
