Machine Operator

We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our team, with a primary focus on maintaining efficient production and packaging operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Hold overall line responsibility from production to packaging.
• Start and stop the machine as required.
• Perform parison controls to ensure quality.
• Monitor material control, including weight distribution and regrind levels.
• Conduct regular quality control and visual quality checks throughout the shift.
• Prepare machines for mold changes.
• Ensure goods are produced in the correct quantity and in accordance with agreed specifications.
• Accurately record goods produced and any issues encountered during the shift.
• Assist Machine Operator II, Shift Supervisor, and Mold Change Team with mold and color changes as needed.
• Work collaboratively in a team and ensure efficiency.
• Maintain good housekeeping in and around the machine and within the department.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience in fast-paced machine operating, preferably with food, injection mold, or extrusion backgrounds.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with packaging, general labor, and machine operating.
• Familiarity with injection mold and label operating.

Work Environment

Work in a clean, well-lit, 110,000 square foot facility, which is set to expand in the coming years. Currently operating with five large packaging machines, with plans to add two more. The role includes shifts on the 2nd (1:45 pm - 10:00 pm) and 3rd (9:45 pm - 6:00 am) shifts.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Bend, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
