HDR Engineering is looking for a PA/WV/DE Bridge Inspection Program Lead to head our PA/WV/DE Bridge Inspection Program. The candidate will lead the continued development of our bridge inspection program including: planning staff training and development; maintaining program quality; supporting workload planning and coordination; identifying business opportunities and leading pursuits; and maintaining relationships with clients and business partners. The role will also be expected to serve as Project Manager and/or Quality Control Reviewer for bridge, tunnel, and/or structural inspection projects. The candidate may conduct National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) inspections as team leader, write field inspection reports, and perform calculations. Field inspections will be performed from ground level, hydraulic equipment, ladder access, or using rope access techniques. Occasional office engineering (design, load rating, analysis, etc.) may be required.

Responsibilities include managing area bridge inspection program (PA/WV/DE) and select projects, developing Quality Assurance requirements and procedures for the inspection program, performing Quality Control reviews for bridge inspection submissions, identifying business opportunities and leading marketing efforts for proposals, leading bridge inspection teams, developing inspection reports, and performing load ratings and other structural calculations. The candidate will also need to work with other disciplines within the office, as necessary, during inspection downtime. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel for multiple night stays during the week are required. The position requires physical ability to perform field inspections of various structures and exposure to environmental hazards.

Preferred qualifications include a BS in Civil Engineering, MS in Civil/Structural Engineering, 10+ years' bridge/structural inspection and design experience, project management experience, demonstrated business development and strategic planning skills, and various safety and inspection training certifications. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree, a minimum of 10 years bridge design experience, a professional engineering license, proven hands-on experience in all aspects of bridge design projects, familiarity with engineering software, demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills, and ability to work with various teams.
