Outside Sales Engineer
Position Summary: We're seeking a motivated and technically skilled Outside Sales Engineer to join a dynamic industrial-equipment firm. In this role you'll develop new business, manage existing customer relationships, and grow sales of engineered systems and service offerings. The successful candidate will represent industry-leading solutions related to steam generation, heat transfer, and water purification, working closely with contractors, engineering firms, and end-users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in industrial and commercial markets.
- Maintain and expand relationships with existing customers.
- Conduct site visits, facility walk-throughs, and technical sales presentations.
- Prepare and deliver quotes, proposals, and project specifications.
- Coordinate with vendors, manufacturers, and service partners to manage project execution.
- Stay abreast of manufacturer product offerings and application solutions.
- Provide post-sale support and service including startup coordination, technical assistance, and ongoing service.
- Travel throughout the assigned territory to develop accounts and uncover opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field (PE license or willingness to pursue preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of sales or engineering experience in a technical or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of industrial processes (steam systems, heat exchangers, water treatment, or related equipment) is a plus.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to travel regionally (approximately 30-40%).
