OSP Facilities Engineer

Mountain Ltd. is seeking an OSP Facilities Engineer to join our team in Fargo, ND!

This Person must be an experienced Outside Plant Engineer with the skills and abilities to manage an assigned area (group of exchanges), with little supervision. Must report locally, to the assigned area, managing the daily needs of that area. i.e. field meets with Jurisdictions, customers and joint utilities, as needed. Will be responsible for all OSP Engineering duties, following client standards and business directions. This Person must report daily to the Manager (doesn't necessarily need to report to the local manager daily, just needs to be able to work independently once trained on our processes and systems)

  This Person must have a valid drivers license, personal vehicle and physical ability to perform all necessary field work and detailing.

  The following skills and knowledge are necessary to perform these duties effectively:

  Bachelor's or Equivalent Work Experience

• n

  Capable to perform Most All OSP Engineering Tasks

  n

• n

  Accomplished with Basic Systems/Programs Skill sets (Microsoft - Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  Experience with any of the following Systems - CADTEL, Peoplesoft, Netcracker

  n
n
• n

  Accomplished in most all types of OSP Designs - Aerial, Buried, U.G. New Build Designs.

  n

• n

  Accomplished in Copper and Fiber Technology/Understanding

  n

• n

  Accomplished Understanding of Copper Cable Counts (Binders, Groups, Super Groups), Fiber Assignments (12 Fiber Increments)

• n

  Effective Communications Skills - Oral and Written

  n
n
• n

  Able to participate in Utility discussions with Government Entities - Cities, Townships, Counties, DOTs, etc.)

• n

  Able to participate and communicate with Partner Departments on OSP Project Designs - i.e. Operations, Central Office, Construction, etc.

• n

  Accomplished with all Understandings and Requirements of an OSPE, including but not limited to - Customer Facing Skills, knowing Partner Department's basic duties, etc. - Accomplished in seeking out needed information or answers to questions.

  Able to manage more complex OSPE Tasks, i.e. FTTx, Ethernet Designs (DSAT/BDTs), Basic Road Moves, DSLAM deployments, Copper and Fiber Cable "right-sizing", etc.

  Must be able to take all the above listed bullets and fully complete OSPE Designs.
