Physician Assistant - Orthopedic SurgeryLocation: Coos Bay, OregonSetting: 127-bed Level III Trauma CenterEmployment Type: Full-Time, Hospital-EmployedStart Date: Open due to growth and expansion Position Overview

Day shift with shared on-call rotation (schedule TBD)
Mix of surgical assist, ED consults, floor rounding, and pre/post-op care
Assigned to a pool of 2-3 orthopedic surgeons
Weekend and holiday coverage may be required (rotating)
EMR: Epic
Call Type: Orthopedic call coverage for Emergency Dept & Inpatient units

Core Responsibilities

Surgical first assist, deep/superficial closures, hardware removal
Perform joint injections, bursa aspirations, wound management
Interpret imaging (X-rays, MRI, CT, Ultrasound)
ED and inpatient consults, discharges, and progress notes
Write orders, prescribe medications, and assist in treatment planning
Participate in daily rounds and multidisciplinary care teams
Use EMR for order entry, documentation, and quality tracking

Qualifications

New graduates accepted, though experience preferred
Visa candidates accepted
Must be willing to relocate and live locally
Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and documentation skills
