Order Picker

This role involves manual labor and operation of various equipment such as electric pallet jacks, stretch-wrappers, and pallet inverters. The position requires handling and organizing products safely within a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Unload products from tractor-trailers and rail containers.
• Verify and accurately count received products.
• Inspect received products and remove any damaged or non-conforming items, processing defective products according to standard operating procedures.
• Scan pallet barcodes using RF equipment.
• Move and store products safely in their designated locations using heavy equipment.
• Receive and evaluate printed orders for selection and preparation requirements.
• Fill orders accurately by picking products from storage areas following predetermined stacking guidelines.
• Utilize scanning devices and computers to ensure order accuracy.
• Correct shortages, over-counts, and incorrect batch codes as necessary.
• Move products from staging areas or directly from storage into trailers.
• Inspect trucks to meet quality and sanitary standards.
• Verify markings, trailer numbers, and shipping documents.
• Load trucks according to designated patterns and guidelines, securing the load for travel.

Essential Skills

• Experience as a sit-down forklift operator.
• Proficiency in forklift operation and material handling.
• RF scanning experience.
• Familiarity with pallet jacks and reach trucks.
• 1-2 years of equipment operation experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with stand-up forklifts.
• Experience in shipping and receiving.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, Kansas.

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $19.50/hr.
