Position Highlights:

• Availability for Two Weekends per Month Required
• Must Attend Orientation on Mondays
• Flexible Training Opportunities During Weekday Mornings & Afternoons

Role Overview:

As an Occupational Therapist, you will evaluate and treat patients with a range of physical, emotional, cognitive, and psychosocial challenges. Your expertise will help them regain their independence and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' abilities to perform daily living skills safely and effectively, designing customized care plans.
• Implement treatment plans using appropriate modalities while documenting patient progress and modifying plans as necessary.
• Educate patients and their families about specific deficits, discharge planning, and the effective use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
• Oversee the care provided by designated staff in accordance with professional standards.
• Maintain a vigilant and safe working environment.
• Other duties as assigned to support patient care objectives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy required.

Experience:

• No prior experience necessary, we welcome recent graduates!

Physical Requirements:

• Constant standing, with frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
• Frequent communication and the use of hearing to assess patient needs.
• Occasional activities may include bending, climbing, and lifting/moving patients.

Licensing and Certification:

Must obtain Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification within 90 days of employment. Additional state-specific licensure is required based on the work location.

Work Environment:

This position primarily offers day shift hours at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital.
