Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician

Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospitalist/Physician to work locum shifts in Denville New Jersey (NJ). Starting as soon as November 2025, the role offers ongoing work with a competitive market rate and benefits.

The Obstetrics and Gynecology role:

• 5 shift blocks per month needed on-going
• Shifts: 24 in-house,
• Total Number of FTE's needed? 5 shifts per block
• EMR: Cerner, but will convert to EPIC at undetermined date
• Shift Schedule: 7a-7a
• Type of Patients/Cases/Procedures: deliveries, c-sections, OB ED and GYN cases
• Patients per Day/Volume: Hospital does 90 deliveries per month, many maternal transfers, will be busy
• Hospitalist to provide GYN coverage
• Support Staff: MFM, in-house Anesthesia, FP and OB/GYN residents
• Trauma Level: Have asked
• NICU Level: 3
• Required to perform circumcisions: No
• Hospitalist Needed for First Assist: Yes
• First Assist Available to Hospitalists: Yes
• Back-up available to the Hospitalists: Yes
• Support staff: MFM, in-house Anesthesia and OB/GYN residents
• 21 L&D beds: 31 Mother/Baby beds; 31 NICU beds
• Total Hospital Deliveries (2017): 3027
• Residency program & type: Yes, Family Practice and OB/GYN (LSU students). Will be faculty for FP and OB/GYN residents
• Involved with LA IHI/AIM Perinatal Improvement Committees
• Very busy, very high acuity teaching hospital with OB Residency from LSU.
• Miscellaneous Information: Very busy, very high acuity teaching hospital with OB Residency.
• Hospitals are quite selective and will scrutinize malpractice history, board actions, references, lapses in work history.

Requirements of the Obstetrics and Gynecology role:

• NJ state license; active, unrestricted
• Board certified OBGYN
• NJ State DEA
• BLS, ACLS
• Covid Vaccination- Required or Medical Exemption
• 100 deliveries in past 24 months no assisted, but preformed
• 25 GYN Cases in the last 12 months
