Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician

Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospitalist/Physician to work locum shifts in Springfield, Missouri (MO). Starting in September 2025, the role offers ongoing work with a competitive market rate and benefits.

The Obstetrics and Gynecology role:

• Annual Births:
• NICU Level: 3
• Possibly GYN emergencies
• Shift: 24-hour shift
• OBHG to back-up private or hospital-employed CNMs or Family Practice Physicians: Yes
• MFM: Yes
• In-house anesthesia: Yes
• Residency program: No
• Practice Setting: Mother/Baby Couplets/Nursery
• Observed Holidays

Orientation:

• 16 hours @ $0 Non-Billable

Patient Age Group:

• Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults

Procedures:

• No VBACs
• Rounding, consults, deliveries, c-sections, and other emergent GYN surgeries
• 24-hour call with some callback

Requirements of the Obstetrics and Gynecology role:

• MO state license; active, unrestricted
• Board certified OBGYN
• MO State DEA
• BLS, ACLS
• 2 years minimum experience
• EMR: Meditech Expanse
• Clean background, name clear (highly preferred)

Schedule:

• Coverage needed per month: At least 1 weekend of 24-hour call, typical hospital time is 2-4 hours per day, with light callback. Call is NOT in-house, but locum must be able to get to the hospital within 15 minutes if called.
• Frequency of any Call needed: Starting at 7 am on Friday through 7 am Monday
• Schedule Details: Coverage includes hospital call coverage and rounding for OB as well as GYN
