Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Hematology/Oncology

Advanced Practice Provider (APP)

We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Advanced Practice Provider (APP)either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistantto join our multidisciplinary Hematology and Oncology team. This full-time role involves working closely with attending physicians and fellow APPs in the care of patients with gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, cutaneous malignancies, and benign hematologic conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations, formulate treatment plans, and manage follow-up care for patients with GI and skin cancers, as well as benign hematologic disorders.
• Collaborate with attending physicians, APP colleagues, nursing staff, and other care team members to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
• Participate in tumor boards and other educational opportunities
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, and supportive care resources.
• Document clinical encounters and treatment plans in the electronic medical record (EMR) in accordance with institutional standards.

Onboarding & Training:

• Week-by-week onboarding guide with defined clinical milestones.
• Direct shadowing with experienced APPs and attending physicians.
• Progressive responsibility in patient evaluation, treatment planning, and management.
• Ongoing mentorship and feedback to ensure proficiency and autonomy.
• Optional training in bone marrow biopsy and aspiration will be provided for interested candidates.

Schedule:

• Full-time/Day Shift
• 4 10-hour shifts per week
• No weekends/no call

Qualifications:

• Massachusetts NP or PA license
• Masters degree from an accredited NP or PA program
• Prior experience in oncology or hematology required
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
