As a Nurse Educator RN for Perioperative Services, you will be responsible for developing and implementing educational programs and training for nursing staff within the surgical department. As an integral member of our clinical education team, you will ensure that the perioperative nursing staff are well-prepared to deliver safe, quality patient care.

Collaborate with the perioperative leadership team to identify educational needs and develop effective training programs accordingly.
Conduct orientation sessions for new perioperative nursing hires and provide ongoing mentorship.
Foster a supportive learning environment that encourages professional growth and adherence to evidence-based practices.
Design, implement, and evaluate competency-based education programs to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
Facilitate simulation-based training exercises to prepare the nursing team for critical perioperative scenarios.
Maintain current knowledge of emerging surgical techniques, technologies, and best practices in perioperative nursing.
Assess the impact of educational initiatives on patient outcomes and staff performance, making adjustments as necessary.
Provide guidance and support for nursing staff pursuing advanced certifications, such as CNOR.
Work closely with interprofessional teams to ensure a cohesive approach to patient education and care planning.

Candidate requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.

Current and valid Pennsylvania RN License.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is preferred.

Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification is preferred.

A minimum of 3 years of perioperative clinical experience with a demonstrated trajectory of leadership and educational roles.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals.

Proven ability to design and deliver effective educational content and programs for adult learners.

Expertise in utilizing technology and educational software to enhance learning experiences.
