Work location: 80 McMakin Road Bartonville, TX 76226

Work hours: Full-time, 40 hours weekly; Monday thru Friday (Alternating Monthly: 745am-445pm, 8am-5pm, and 815am-515pm)

  • n High School Diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED)nn

  • n Graduation from an Accredited Medical Assistant Program or Five years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician's office in lieu of Medical Assistant Program (REQUIRED)nn
  n
  n
n
• n
  n
  • n One year of Medical Assistant experience (PREFERRED)nn
  n
  n
n
• n
  n
  • n ACLS OR BCLS upon hie (PREFERRED)nn
  n
  n
n

What You Will Do

n
• n Performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures.nn
n
• n Greets and prepares patients for the health care provider.nn
n
• n Obtains and records vital signs including, but not limited to: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.nn
n
• n Administers ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.nn
n
• n May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis as well as perform routine tests such as EKG.nn
n
• n Schedules patients for diagnostic testing and follows up to ensure completion of testing.nn
n
• n Documents patient plan(s) of care, tests and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider.nn
n
• n Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician.nn
n
• n Prepares, cleans, and sterilizes instruments and maintains equipment, disposing of contaminated items according to protocol. Keeps patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly.nn
n
• n Escalates non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider(s).nn
n
• n Ensures safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required.nn
n
• n Provides for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.nn
n
• n May work in the front office as needed, as well as perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, more senior staff, or as requested by healthcare provider(s).nn
n
