Job Summary:
As an entry-level Registered Nurse, you will embark on a fulfilling journey with us at Mary Washington Healthcare, where you will build the foundational skills necessary for your nursing career. This position is designed for new graduates who are eager to learn and grow into competent nursing practitioners within one year.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Deliver and manage comprehensive nursing care, collaborating with both licensed and unlicensed personnel through the nursing process to achieve positive patient outcomes.
• Engage patients, families, and healthcare team members in care processes, including education and discharge planning.
• Effectively communicate and coordinate care plans and critical information with all healthcare team members.
• Assist leadership in establishing care excellence standards and enhancing patient care services.
• Contribute to and integrate performance improvement initiatives into everyday care delivery.
• Participate in the daily operational activities that promote a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Provide valuable input to the Nurse Manager regarding unit needs and enhancements.
• Engage in departmental and hospital committees that shape nursing policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program without prior nursing experience.
• Possession of a valid RN License from Virginia or a reciprocal compact state.
• BSN is preferred.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR certification required upon hire.
• AHA ACLS Provider certification required within the first year of employment.
• NIHSS certification (Bluecloud) required within 90 days of hire.
