Locums - NP/PA NeonatologyLocation: Syracuse, New YorkSetting: NICU - Level IIIStart: ASAPCoverage Type: Long-term, full-time Schedule Details:

Shift Structure: 7 days on / 7 days off
Shift Length: 12-hour shifts (day or night)
Admissions per Shift: 0-2
Patient Census: Average 8-9 patients per day
Unit Beds: 16-bed NICU
Well Baby Nursery: Covered during night shift only

Team & Supervision:

Neonatologists: 3 (also cover pediatrician needs)
Pediatric Mid-Levels: 6 + 1 per diem
Support Staff:
Neonatologist onsite during day
On-call 24/7 otherwise

Supervision: RNs and ancillary staff (no NNP supervision) Procedures Required:
- Ventilation management (invasive & non-invasive)
- ETT, BiPAP/CPAP
- Chest tube insertion
- Exchange transfusions
- UAC/UVC placement
- Lumbar punctures
- Central & arterial line placement
- Diagnostic & therapeutic taps
- C-section attendance
- Evaluation of acute BP/volume issues
Other Details:
- Transport: No transport duties; Level IV NICU 5 minutes away handles all transfers
- EMR: Epic
Requirements:
- Certification:
- Board-Certified Neonatologist or Experienced NICU PA - Required
License:
Active NY License - Required
Experience:
