MUG Project Engineer

Job Description

Insight Global is hiring a Project Engineer to support an electric utility client in North Houston. This person will be responsible for providing project engineering support across 15-20 projects at a time. These responsibilities include:

  Reviewing Plan & Profiles.

  Ensuring that construction can take place without complications.

• n

  Acquire easements, permits, and additional authorization to cross pipelines and other existing infrastructure.

• n

  Checking drawings, supporting other engineers by submitting survey requests, coordinating with overhead teams to acquire pole location authorizations, read through one-line diagrams, request new plans from vendors, and support the existing engineers ad hoc.

  Review prints and drawings from external engineering design firms.   

  n

• n

  Coordinate with various internal teams to reach project deliverables (ex. Construction Team, Scheduling Team, Project Management, etc.)

• n

  Outline and review required materials for projects. Execute project from design to construction.

Skills and Requirements

2+ Years of Experience in Project Engineering

Electrical or Civil Engineering background OR Electrical Technology Degree

Ability to read engineering drawings, designs, drafts/layouts, and plans & profiles.

Experience utilizing Electrical and/or Civil Engineering understanding to execute projects from design to construction.

Tools: MicroStation, AutoCAD, and MS Office. Familiarity of SAP (Work Order Tracking/Processing)

Utilities industry experience

Overhead Distribution Experience
