The opportunity

Delaware North Sportservice is hiring a full-time or part-time Morning Cook to join our team at Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island. As a Morning Cook, you will be responsible for prepping and cooking breakfast items at our arena, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to high standards and presented attractively. Your primary duties will include preparing & cooking breakfast and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, and ensuring that all food safety guidelines are followed. Additionally, you will occasionally receive & put away small food deliveries. This role requires excellent culinary skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience for our guests and clients

What will you do?

  Prepares food to specifications before and during unit operations.

  n

• n

  Properly measures and portions all food items. Complies with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures.

  Cooks all food to proper specifications promptly.

  n

• n

  Utilizes kitchen equipment to prepare food items such as knives, slicers, whips, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, ovens, etc.

• n

  Ensures proper food temperatures are maintained and food is stored correctly.

  n
n
• n

  Packages all products to proper specifications.

  n
n
• n

  Performs opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed and according to proper guidelines.

• n

  Keeps workstation, cooler, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked.

  Follows and upholds all health codes and sanitation regulations.

• n

  May be required to perform other duties as needed to support the overall goals and objectives of the team and organization.

  At least one year of experience in a back-of-the-house food-service position.

  Ability to read and understand recipes and food abbreviations.

  Ability to move rapidly and coordinate multiple orders.

  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  Attentive and detail-oriented.

  Capable of following procedures and taking directions.

  Basic math skills; ability to understand, calculate, and follow recipe measurements and proportions.

  Available to work early morning shifts, days vary. Weekend availability is required.

  Standing and walking for the entire length of the shift.
