Springfield Behavioral of Pennsylvania, part of the Optum family, is excited to invite a Mental Health Psychiatrist to join our dedicated team. As a key member of the Optum Behavioral Care team, you'll play an essential role in our mission to enhance healthcare for all individuals.

In this role, you'll have the opportunity to treat a diverse array of mental health conditions tailored to the unique needs of our patients. We provide a range of solutions that ensure our providers can focus solely on delivering exceptional care.

Initially, you will work on-site to foster patient engagement and build your caseload. Once established, you can transition to a flexible hybrid schedule incorporating both in-person and remote care. This position includes three in-office days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize evidence-based tools and diagnostic criteria to evaluate mental health conditions and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Collaborate with other clinicians to provide cohesive patient care.
• Communicate effectively with referral sources, including physicians and schools, to coordinate care.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through regular monitoring and adjustments as needed.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records in compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Act as a Collaborating Physician for PMHNP colleagues, offering necessary support.

Required Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Physician license (MD/DO) in Pennsylvania or eligible to obtain one.
• Board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or eligible for board certification.
• Current DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) registration.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of clinical experience in an outpatient behavioral health setting.
• Experience with patients across various age groups, including children to geriatrics.
• Proficient in using medical documentation software like Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS, or other EHRs.
