Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Technologist to serve as an evening supervisor in our general laboratory. This leadership role requires overseeing a team of 5-6 technologists, handling scheduling, troubleshooting, and administrative tasks. As the go-to person for the lab, you will ensure quality assurance and oversee testing activities, contributing to the growth and success of our laboratory.

Responsibilities

  Manage a team of 5-6 technologists, providing leadership and support.

  Handle scheduling, troubleshooting, and administrative paperwork.

• n

  Oversee testing and quality assurance activities in the point of care testing program.

• n

  Perform day-to-day supervision of chemistry and hematology departments.

• n

  Monitor processes to ensure acceptable levels of analytic performance.

  n

• n

  Review quality assurance practices, environmental monitors, and equipment maintenance.

  n

• n

  Ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment, including quality control and calibration.

Essential Skills

n
• n

  NYS Clinical Technologist license required.

  n
n
• n

  Bachelor's degree with 4 years of clinical laboratory experience or a Master's degree with 2 years of clinical lab experience.

• n

  Experience in chemistry and hematology, with the ability to perform manual differentials.

  n
n
• n

  1-2 years of prior lead or supervisory experience in a clinical lab.

n

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• n

  Experience with laboratory technology and point of care testing.

• n

  MLT manager, chemistry, hematology, medical technologist, supervisor experience.

Work Environment

Work hours are Monday through Friday, with shifts from 3pm to 11pm or 4pm to 12am. Enjoy a work-life balance with no nights or weekends required. The lab is managed by a reputable health organization, providing an opportunity to lead and grow in a supportive environment.
