Job Title : Medical Technologist- Full time Position with Full Benefits

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our hospital's medical laboratory team. The ideal candidate will possess a New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or a valid permit issued by the NYSDOE Clinical Laboratory to Technology. ASCP certification is preferred but not required, provided the candidate holds a full New York State MLT license.

Responsibilities

• Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratory for the assigned station.
• Understand the principles of tests performed and possess working knowledge of the equipment used in the assigned station.
• Ensure that all specimens are stored appropriately.
• Follow all quality control policies and procedures to ensure reliable patient results.
• Recognize critical or life-threatening results, verify them, and report to the appropriate clinician.
• Document all results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).

Work Environment

The position is based in a hospital medical laboratory with over 30 Medical Laboratory Technologists on each shift. Departments include Microbiology, Blood Bank, General Lab, Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, and Urology. The work schedule is either overnight from 11pm to 7 : 30am or from 12pm to 8 : 30am. The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, offering a dynamic and growing environment with opportunities for professional growth. The role includes competitive salary, holiday pay (6 days), and vacation pay (10 days).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00 / hr.
