Medical Technologist I - Core Laboratory (Per Diem)

Standard Hours: Two 8-hour shifts every other weekend, from 11:30 PM to 8 AM (Friday night to Saturday morning, and Saturday night to Sunday morning).

In the Core Laboratory, you will play a key role in performing a variety of critical patient testing and administrative tasks to support our clinical activities. Our laboratory covers multiple essential testing areas, including Chemistry, Toxicology, Blood Gas Analysis, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Automated Hematology, and Manual Hematology, as well as Specimen Processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Investigate and resolve issues related to equipment, test results, specimens, and workflow.
• Participate in team projects and assignments, contributing to a collaborative environment.
• Provide instruction and training to Clinical Laboratory Science students, Pathology residents, and new staff members, serving as a valuable technical resource.
• Conduct quality control checks and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests, observing test reactions and providing accurate data.
• Prepare specimens and reagents, ensuring precision and safety standards.
• Communicate results effectively to healthcare providers and consult on any relevant concerns.
• Review test results for accuracy and make timely corrections as needed.

Additional Information:

Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Candidates must meet eligibility requirements upon hire to take the MT exam within 12 months.

Licensure/Certification Requirements: Candidates must obtain MLS/MT (ASCP), MT (NCA), or MT (AMT) certification within 12 months of hire.

Professional Experience Requirements: No previous experience required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
