Medical Surgical Unit - Licensed Vocational Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

• Must have at least 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 9 months within the past 12 months.

• 3 months of experience with Meditech is preferred from any number of months.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Unit Details:- Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability): 42 Bed unit that cares for med-surg patients of all types, with specific care of the post-op general surgery, typically GI/GU in nature. Staffing includes Patient Care Techs of ~12:1, and dept asst(unit secretary) 7A-11p M-F and 7a-7p on S/S.

Technology Used on Unit:- Documentation system: Expanse as of 7/10

Shift & Scheduling:- Scheduling requirements: Every other weekend.

Special Requests:- No blocked scheduling

Floating Requirements: Floating policy: C/L floats first to care for similar patient population.

Required Skills/Experience:- Patient Experience requirements: Must meet patient needs timely, professionally, and with empathy. Any deviations from the highest level of nursing care will not be accepted.- Requested Skill Set: Accountability, Time management, Self-Starter, general nursing skills.

Procedures/Diagnostics/Treatments Performed on Unit:- Procedures performed on unit: Minimal, an occasional I&D, joint aspirations, and lumbar punctures.
