Job Summar y
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Medical Social Worker to support patients and families in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric hospital social work and the ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments of patients and families.

Provide bereavement support and counseling to families experiencing loss or trauma.

Collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare teams to develop and implement care plans.

Work with community agencies such as the Department of Children and Families (DCF) to coordinate patient support and resources.

Manage cases in high-paced, high-acuity NICU settings with sensitivity and professionalism.

Document all social work activities and interventions accurately within the EMR system (Epic).

Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case reviews.

Facilitate discharge planning and connect families with appropriate community resources.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.

Minimum of 2 years of social work experience in a pediatric hospital setting.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records, specifically Epic.

Strong skills in assessment, bereavement counseling, and crisis intervention.

Experience working collaboratively with community agencies and multidisciplinary teams.

Ability to work effectively in high-acuity, fast-paced healthcare environments.

Preferred Qualification s

Experience specifically in NICU or neonatal care social work.

Additional certifications or training related to pediatric or medical social work.

Certification: Basic Life Support
