Medical Records Clerk

*About the Role:* We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized *Medical Records Clerk* to join our healthcare team in Baltimore, MD. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, organizing, and retrieving patient medical records in accordance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.

*Description*
* Retrieve and process patient charts from care areas in a timely manner.
* Prepare charts for scanning and indexing into the electronic health record system.
* Perform quality reviews to ensure all scanned documents meet high standards of accuracy and clarity.
* Complete, register, and file death certifications in accordance with state regulations.
* Support other non-professional roles within the department as needed.

Electronic medical record, scanning, and customer service
*Additional Skills & Qualifications*
* High school diploma or GED.
* Minimum 1 year of experience in document scanning/imaging in a high-volume hospital medical records department.
* Must have experience indexing medical records.
* Must have prior experience working in a hospital environment.
* Ability to walk at least 40 minutes per day and carry up to 20 lbs.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $16.00/hr.
