Medical Field Service Engineer - Iowa
We are seeking an experienced Medical Field Service Engineer to join our team in Iowa. In this role, you will service and maintain medical laboratory equipment such as hematology, chemistry, and coagulation analyzers. This position is ideal for candidates residing in the Des Moines or Sioux City areas, as it involves servicing automated robotic lab instrumentation across these regions. This opportunity offers significant professional growth within a leading manufacturer in the medical devices industry.
Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Installation, routine servicing, and preventive maintenance of medical laboratory instrumentation.
Establish and maintain solid customer relationships, acting as the face of the company in the field.
Coordinate with the Field Support Group to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Manage and maintain inventory of tools and parts in company vehicle.
Deliver basic training to customers on the operation and maintenance of the equipment.
Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

A Certificate or AAS Degree in electronics or a related discipline is required.
Proven background in electronics and electro-mechanical troubleshooting.
Minimum of 3 years experience as a field service engineer, preferably in the medical devices sector.
Ability to travel overnight as required for job duties.
Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, as mandated by company policy.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in servicing medical laboratory analyzers (hematology, chemistry, coagulation, etc.)
Experience working with automated robotic laboratory instrumentation.

Skills:

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and understand technical diagrams and manuals.
Proficient in the use of diagnostic tools and software used in the maintenance and repair of electronic and mechanical systems.
