Summary

The Medical Assistant (MA) provides a wide range of assistive services to promote patient flow, gather patient information, and support patient care in the clinic setting. Responsibilities include patient access duties such as check-in and appointment scheduling. All medical tasks are performed under the direction of the clinic nurse or provider.

The Certified/Registered MA works under the supervision of the Clinic Manager and the direction of the provider and/or nurse and is employed by Mosaic Life Care.

Duties

• Interviews patients and documents responses in the medical record according to standards
• Administers and documents prescribed medications (oral, intramuscular, intradermal, subcutaneous, inhaled, drops) and treatments per organizational standards
• Observes, records, and reports patient responses to medications and treatments to provider(s)
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma required
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program required
• Certification:
• CMA Certified or Registered Medical Assistant required
• BCLS Basic Life Support required
• Experience:
• Six months of experience in a physician's office or healthcare setting preferred
