Medical Assistant

Join the Neurology Department as a Medical Assistant, where you'll play a vital role in supporting our physicians and ensuring a seamless experience for our patients. While the physicians handle most hands-on patient care, you will focus on administrative duties and patient interaction, contributing to the high-quality care we provide.

Responsibilities

• Handle patient check-in, check-out, and vitals.
• Assist with rooming patients and preparing them for examinations.
• Measure and record vital signs accurately.
• Perform basic lab tests as required.
• Take calls from patients and manage new and return patient contact.
• Record and update patient medical histories in EPIC EHR system.
• Monitor supply inventory, ensuring adequate supplies and equipment availability.
• Clean and stock exam rooms when necessary.

Essential Skills

• Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA/RMA) certification.
• Experience with the EPIC EHR system.
• At least 1 year of experience as a medical assistant in any discipline.
• Patient registration and scheduling skills.
• Proficiency in taking vitals and rooming patients.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Completed a Medical Assistant program.
• Updated BLS certification.
• Experience with phlebotomy is a plus.

Work Environment

This position is based in a clinical setting within the Neurology Department. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
