Mechanical Technician / Sr. Machinist

CACI is seeking a CNC Machinist at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Aberdeen, Maryland. Responsibilities include fabrication, integration, and assembly activities associated with prototype development, determining the appropriate fabrication equipment or method based on requirements, and performing fabrication, modification, and installation of mechanical components and subsystems. The candidate must maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety and perform complex set-up and machining operations on various machine tools. Skilled in the use of measuring tools and test instruments, the candidate should also have experience in using electrical and manual tools and be able to read and interpret technical documents and drawings. An understanding of methods used to produce fabricated parts and proficiency in programming, setup, and operation of CNC machines is required. Collaboration with design engineers and sharing best practices with machining approaches and materials as a subject matter expert (SME) on machining is also expected.

Qualifications include the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance, SolidWorks/CREO CAD experience, CAD/CAM (MasterCam) Software experience, knowledge of manufacturing quality assurance processes, and CNC Programming for HAAS Lathes and other HAAS Machines. Desired qualifications include experience in manual milling and lathe machines, experience in TIG and MIG welding D1.1, D1.2.1, and D17.1, and welding certifications.
