JOB SUMMARY
The Mechanical Technician III will support engineering projects focused on capacity additions, line installations, and equipment debugging from a mechanical perspective. This role involves leading or participating in manufacturing engineering projects, collaborating with vendors, and applying mechanical expertise to improve equipment reliability and performance. The position requires strong technical skills, the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues, and the flexibility to work overtime or off-hours as needed to meet project milestones.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain safe work practices and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Manage installation and debugging activities to meet project milestones and timelines.
Design and implement mechanical solutions and process changes to improve manufacturing equipment performance.
Perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of mechanical systems (e.g., pumps, motors, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics).
Align, test, and calibrate mechanical systems after installation.
Solve mechanical and process issues using data analysis, collaboration, and technical expertise.
Manage spare parts identification and storeroom entry in coordination with suppliers and engineers.
Develop and update engineering and operations documentation.
Support training for operations workforce on equipment or process changes.
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals for troubleshooting and repair.
Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements.

Required Qualifications

Associateâ€™s degree in a mechanical or related field.
Minimum 3+ years of experience in new equipment installations within a manufacturing environment.
Experience working in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities.
Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals with expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, gear systems, and conveyors.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic CMMS applications.
Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
Knowledge of industrial safety regulations and practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience with commercial manufacturing equipment.
Project leadership/management experience (milestones, timelines, financial ownership).
Vendor/supplier management experience.
CAD experience.
Detail-oriented with ability to perform independently in a project environment.

Certifications
Relevant mechanical or industrial certifications (e.g., Millwright, HVAC, Welding).
OSHA or other safety certifications (preferred).
