Mechanical Plumber

A Mechanical Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial plumbing systems, including reading blueprints, installing pipe systems, and conducting system tests. Key duties include collaborating with project teams, ensuring safety standards are met, and providing on-the-job training for apprentices. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge of commercial plumbing, adherence to safety and building codes, and communication skills to work with clients and other trades.

Core responsibilities

• Installing water supply, waste, and drainage systems in commercial buildings
• Performing preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and troubleshooting issues in various plumbing systems
• Conducting pressure and leak tests to ensure system integrity
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and building codes for installations
• Working with project managers, foremen, and other trades to ensure projects stay on schedule
• Following all company policies and OSHA safety standards, and potentially conducting safety briefings
• Maintaining accurate logs, as-built documents, and tracking material usage

Skills and experience

• Strong mechanical knowledge of commercial plumbing systems
• Experience in commercial plumbing installation and service
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with safety regulations and building codes
• Good communication skills to work with clients, management, and team members
• Physical ability to perform all demands of the position
• Valid driver's license
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including on-call for emergencies

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
