Mechanical Designer

Job Details
Key Responsibilities:

• Design HVAC and plumbing systems including ductwork, piping, and equipment layouts.
• Perform load calculations, pressure drop analysis, and equipment selection.
• Prepare construction documents, including drawings and specifications, suitable for bidding and permitting.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
• Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies for retrofit and new construction projects.
• Assist in budgeting and cost estimation for mechanical scopes.
• Review and ensure compliance with local building codes and industry standards.
• Support project timelines and communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.

Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Design, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on HVAC and/or plumbing systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with Trace Load software or similar HVAC analysis tools is a plus.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and construction documentation.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience working in a collaborative design team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new standards.
