This full-time, permanent position as a Mechanical Design Engineer offers a unique opportunity to engage in detailed, custom 3D SolidWorks designs for a diverse range of customers in the biotechnology, food, and pharmaceutical industries. This role involves direct hire by a well-established company. Located in Whitewater, Wisconsin, the job involves onsite work with an inclusive team dedicated to continuous innovation and efficiency.
Salary: $50,000 to $70,000 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed, custom 3D SolidWorks drawings specific to sanitary piping systems for various client requirements in the biotechnology, food, and pharmaceutical sectors.
- Collaborate with project managers and project engineers to translate project needs into detailed design specifications and documentation.
- Generate and maintain accurate bills of materials to support project requirements and cost estimation.
- Assist in project management tasks such as scheduling, tracking, and quality control of engineering projects.
- Provide technical support and guidance on engineering matters related to design, integration, and implementation of mechanical components as needed.
- 1+ year of hands-on 3D SolidWorks design experience, particularly with sanitary piping in relevant industries such as biotechnology, food, or pharmaceuticals.
- A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent additional years of experience in 3D design.
- Excellent ability to work collaboratively and effectively communicate technical information with project teams.
- Proven track record showing stability and growth in previous engineering roles.
- Must be a US citizen or current Green Card holder.
- Must reside within 45 minutes of the Whitewater, Wisconsin area or be willing to relocate without assistance.
- Project management experience or related skills in the oversight of engineering projects.
- Advanced certification or training in SolidWorks or related CAD software.
- Experience in fluid mechanics and electrical control systems within design environments.
- Demonstrated proficiency in 3D CAD modeling, particularly SolidWorks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities specific to mechanical and structural design challenges.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across departments and with clients.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
