Job Title: Mechanical Cost EstimatorJob Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Cost Estimator with over 10 years of cost management and estimating experience on medium to large-scale construction projects, specifically within the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) trades. The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of the Mechanical trade and, ideally, a working knowledge of the Electrical trade.

Responsibilities

• Manage cost estimation for medium to large-scale construction projects within the MEP trades.

• Utilize deep knowledge of the Mechanical trade to ensure accurate cost management.

• Write and review business documents, including reports, detailed letters, and emails.

• Plan, manage time effectively, and solve problems as they arise.

• Work collaboratively in a team setting with minimal supervision.

• Demonstrate attention to detail and maintain high-quality standards in all tasks.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's or higher degree in a construction-related discipline or equivalent field experience.

• 10+ years of cost management/estimating experience.

• Strong understanding of mechanical construction and cost estimation.

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.

• Experience with proprietary government estimating software/programs such as MII, SUCCESS, CostWorks, and PACES.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Citizenship is strongly preferred.

• Ability to obtain a clearance after beginning the role.

• Consulting or owner's representative experience is a huge plus.

• Experience with additional estimating software like BlueBeam, OST, Second Generation MCASES (MII), PACES, and CostWorks is beneficial, with training provided as necessary.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alexandria, Virginia.
