Mechanical Assembler

This position is responsible for the assembly of low and medium voltage electrical switchgear cabinets for the manufacture of products. Assemblers will be responsible for taking a blueprint or work order, gathering appropriate materials and hardware, using hand and power tools to follow the work instructions and perform a basic inspection to ensure the product is manufactured with quality.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret assembly and elevation drawings.
• Construct modular steel cabinets and copper buss assemblies.
• Read tape measure accurately.
• Utilize manual hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers.
• Operate power tools including drills, impact tools, and pneumatic torque wrenches.

Essential Skills:

• At least 2 years' experience as a Mechanical Assembler, Machine Builder, or Automotive Mechanic in a job shop environment.
• Knowledge of electrical symbols and schematics.
• Proficiency in using shop equipment and hand tools.
• Ability to perform basic math functions, including understanding fractions and decimals.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and conversing in English.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Technical School preferred but not required.
• Experience with mechanical assembly, carpentry, and construction is advantageous.

Work Environment:

The work environment is a medium-sized facility with 60 employees, where products are manufactured from start to finish, including fabrication, welding, wiring, and assembly. The facility is clean, modern, and offers comfortable working temperatures.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract position based out of St. Charles, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
