Mechanic Technician

As a Mechanic Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and executing necessary repairs. This role includes rebuilding various plant and process equipment such as pumps, motors, gearboxes, and valves, as well as repairing and replacing hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. You will also need to understand flow controls and possess both mechanical and electrical inclinations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on plant and process equipment.
• Rebuild pumps, motors, gearboxes, valves, and other related equipment.
• Repair and replace hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Understand flow controls and demonstrate mechanical and electrical inclinations.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in electrical, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and repair services.
• Skilled in using tools like multimeter and voltmeter.
• Knowledge of industrial, food, and electronics systems.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Comfortable standing, walking, and climbing stairs for long periods.
• Proficiency in English reading and writing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High level of welding, electrical, or mechanical skills is a plus.
• Flexibility to work various shifts as plant and business needs arise.

Work Environment

The work schedule includes a rotating shift from 6pm to 6am with rotating days off. The environment can vary between hot or cold in different areas. Employees receive a shift differential for working from 6pm to 6am. The 2nd shift operates from 3pm to 11:30pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.93 - $30.40/hr.
