Overview: Tues - Sat 3rd Shift 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Job Description Summary: The Mechanic maintains repairs and monitors equipment operation and utility services to the Hospital complex.

Job Description: Essential Functions:

• Inspects and diagnoses mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions in equipment.
• Repairs and maintains equipment by replacing or repairing defective parts, adjusting functional parts, and lubricating equipment.
• Tests equipment performance and ensures that it meets manufacturer specifications.
• Records maintenance and repair work performed on equipment.
• Operates equipment to detect equipment malfunctions and to verify that repairs have been completed satisfactorily.
• Cleans and maintains work area and tools.

Education Requirement: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Licensure Requirement: Valid Ohio drivers license and proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy and position-specific requirements. Must pass motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications, and training set forth by Nationwide Childrens Hospital and maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Skills: Ability to learn and adjust the Building Automation system.

Experience: Two years of related experience in one or more skilled crafts required.
