GENERAL FUNCTION
The Materials Handler provides merchandise that is stored in the Distribution Center for distribution to new and existing stores. The Materials Handler works closely with the management team in order to facilitate productivity, accuracy, and process. The Materials Handler also trains new employees and follows up on their comprehension, understanding and productivity.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains 400-500 units per hour output of the singles machine.
• Ensures singles machine is 'operationally maintained' to reach productivity goals.
• Ensures the equipment performs at the optimum required rate and continuous sequence.
• Performs quality control on all products moving through the singles machine and the PANDA machines.
• Investigates errors for root causes. Troubleshoots and performs limited operational repairs and/or errors at the singles machine.
• Performs operational maintenance on the singles machine. I.e printer jams, cardboard, or glue issues.
• Ensures product flows at the required rate through the RFID tunnels and continues through the shipping sorter.
• Performs all activities according to established procedures.
• Adheres to all safety guidelines within scope of the position.
• Works with/creates a sense of urgency among the team and pushes productivity among groups of employees & specialists.
• Assists with training and coaching of new employees.
• Completes projects as assigned by DC Supervisor and/or Manager.
• Works closely with the leadership team to expedite high priority requests and ensure accuracy.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ year(s) experience
• Mechanical aptitude, dexterity, critical thinking and detailed-oriented
• Excellent mathematical aptitude/numerical recognition
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as requested by Supervisors/Manager
• Ability to communicate/cooperate with DC employees
• Ability to interact professionally with both corporate and non-corporate personnel
• Ability to use material handling equipment (pallet jacks, carts, etc.)
• Ability to lift/carry up to 40 pounds
• Ability to work in a stand/walk position for up to 10 hours

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience in distribution center/warehouse and/or a production environment.
• Experience with automated systems and packaging machinery.
