Material Control Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

Penske Logistics is seeking Material Control Analysts to join our team. This role is ideal for self-motivated individuals with strong analytical, computer, and customer service skills, who are safety conscious. The position involves coordinating department processes, providing management visibility through tracking, auditing, researching, and troubleshooting operational issues.

SHIFT:

B Crew - Tues through Fri (start time between 5p-7p)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Use computer systems to enter records and generate reports
• Weigh or count items for distribution to ensure conformance to standards
• Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine assignments
• Complete daily logs
• Improve customer’s inventory and material flow processes
• Resolve stock shortages with customers
• Identify cost savings opportunities
• Track shipments to meet deadlines
• Work with suppliers to resolve part/shipment issues
• Follow parts control functions including tracking, schedule analysis, and exception management
• Assist with process and transportation design changes
• Ensure optimal material flow through parts follow-up
• Conduct analysis and support cost-saving initiatives
• Implement process improvements to reduce waste
• Develop metrics dashboards and analytics for customers
• Respond to customer requests using discretion and judgment
• Present analytics and solutions during customer QBRs
• Perform other projects and tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1-3 years inventory, auditing, or transportation experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
• Understanding of transportation, supply chain, and logistics concepts
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and multitask
• Follow processes and standard procedures
• Experience analyzing large data sets
• Proficient in Excel and Outlook; ability to operate multiple WMS platforms
• Regular attendance is essential
• Willingness to travel, work scheduled hours, and pass background and drug screenings

Physical Requirements:

• Read, communicate verbally and in writing, analyze information, and follow instructions
• Stand, walk, sit; frequently use hands; reach with arms
• Occasionally lift/move up to 25 lbs
• Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment
