SpaceX's Special Programs team is looking for a dedicated and talented individual to develop, maintain, and help lead the execution of our highly dynamic mission and engineering development programs. This role requires proactive coordination of programmatic milestones, non-recurring engineering development, certification activities, manufacturing hardware delivery, launch pad & payload preparation, and on-orbit & recovery operations.

As the team's Master Scheduler, you will be at the nexus of all of these activities and will work to construct, maintain, and communicate multiple resource-aware projects in parallel. You'll be empowered to identify and solve gaps in our engineering plans, implement improvements, and drive consistency across our proposals and active programs.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of project schedules for complex government programs
• Coordinate, maintain, communicate, and present the critical path schedules
• Alert engineering and programmatic leadership to potential issues, develop/coordinate a set of solutions, and then drive the team to positive outcomes
• Quickly understand existing and future projects, assemblies, sequences, and constraints in order to actively de-conflict issues with several teams across multiple sites
• Learn our engineering, production, launch site, and on-orbit operations in enough depth that you are able to critically evaluate them and drive process improvements
• Work with SpaceX managers, supervisors and leads to ensure that your project plans reflect reality and key deliverables will be completed on time
• Devise, maintain, and improve scheduling tools and processes that identify, analyze, and brief potential constraints on a weekly and daily basis
• Facilitate and drive weekly schedule reviews with responsible engineers, ensuring up to date and accurate plans

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or 10+ years of professional work in the aerospace industry
• 3+ years of professional experience as an integrated master scheduler
• Experience with medium to large sized (2000-8000 lines) projects
• Experience with generating master schedules from many sub-tier projects
• 4+ years of professional experience utilizing Microsoft Project
• Active Top Secret, Top Secret SCI clearance, or DOE Level Q clearance

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Understanding of the aerospace engineering lifecycle
• Demonstrated acumen with developing and coordinating the on-time execution of complex, multi-disciplinary engineering project
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, Project, and the MS Office suite
• Experience with Milestones Professional, OnePager Pro, or equivalent
• Coursework or training in Critical Path Analysis methodology
• Experience performing schedule risk analysis techniques
• Experience with resource loaded schedules
• Experience analyzing schedules using Industry Standard Health Metrics
• Strong organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills including public speaking
• Able to work and communicate well with others in a team environment
• Able to be diplomatically persuasive or assertive when necessary
• Highly skilled at taking in large quantities of information and presenting it in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to work with limited supervision to develop and manage many levels of program plans and schedules simultaneously

Additional Requirements:

• Note that an active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive SpaceX missions. If so, you will be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testing.
• Must be willing to travel (approximately 10%) to other SpaceX locations, as necessary
• Willing to work extended hours and weekends when needed

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: Master Scheduler: $110,000.00-$145,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Those with an active clearance will receive a 10% differential, up to an additional $15,000 annually, once officially briefed into a classified program.
