Marine Electrician Technician - Career Opportunity - San Diego, CA

As a Marine Electrician Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting field installation services aboard US Navy ships. Your primary responsibilities will involve the installation, termination, and testing of fiber optic and copper cable assemblies to facilitate various ship services, including power, communication, telephone, and alarm systems.

Responsibilities:

• Install, tag, and band fiber optic and copper cables on various classes of surface and submarine Naval vessels.
• Layout, fabricate, and install electrical wiring, coaxial cable, waveguides, or fiber optic cable onboard Navy vessels.
• Troubleshoot and test fiber and copper cables and circuits.
• Perform tasks associated with electrical installation of cable, military circular connectors, panel box, and power terminations.
• Read and interpret drawings, specifications, technical manuals, design notices, etc.
• Utilize tools of the trade such as multi-meters, pin crimpers, and soldering equipment.
• Exhibit self-sufficiency in the role of a shipboard or airframe electrician.

Essential Skills:

• Marine electrical troubleshooting and schematic interpretation.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical manuals.
• Experience with electrical troubleshooting and use of tools such as multi-meters and pin crimpers.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in ship repair onboard US Navy ships, or equivalent technical education.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Familiarity with MS-Office programs, including Word and Excel.
• Former Navy experience as Electronics Technician (ET), Information Systems Technician (IC), Aviation Maintenance (AT), or Electrician's Mate (EM) is ideal.

Work Environment:

• Work will be conducted at various sites including NBSD, NASNI (Coronado), CMSD, NASSCO, and BAE. Job Type & Location:

• This is a Contract to Hire position based out of National City, California.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
