Manual Machinist (Lathe)

Location: Trinity, AL

Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM

Occasional Saturdays: 34 hours as needed (rare)

Pay: $20$30/hour (based on skills and experience)

About the Role: We are a small, locally owned job shop in Trinity, AL, seeking a skilled Manual Machinist with strong experience operating manual lathes. This is a hands-on role focused on producing custom parts for a variety of industries. While the primary responsibility is manual machining, there may be occasional work on a CNC grinder.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain manual lathes to produce precision parts
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Set up machines, select tooling, and make necessary adjustments
• Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Collaborate with a small team to meet production goals

Qualifications:

• Proven experience operating manual lathes in a job shop or similar environment
• Strong understanding of machining principles and techniques
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated

Experience Level: Intermediate Level

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.
