The Manager Respiratory Care manages the provision of therapeutic and diagnostic patient care services in accordance with the policies of the medical center and the directives of the administrative director, medical director and medical staff, responsible for oversight of the administration of a wide variety of respiratory care modalities consistent with the department's

Responsibilities
The Manager Respiratory Care responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Evaluates departmental operations and makes recommendations for change
• Formulates goals, objectives, and performance improvement strategies for departmental activities and budget
• Establishes and maintains appropriate business and clinical records in compliant with all applicable local, state or federal accrediting or regulatory agency
• Coordinates supervisory personnel, technical staff, and clerical support to ensure the proper management and administration of therapeutics and diagnostics
• Interviews applicants and hires, evaluates, and counsels employees according to established performance standards and maintains adequate staffing of the department
• The Manager of Respiratory Care reports to assigned leader.

• Potential for exposure to hazardous risks, including potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, chemicals. Potential for bodily injury related to lifting and incidents of workplace violence.
• Must follow universal safety precautions.
• Potential for exposure to constant interruptions, noise, disagreeable odors, and assorted chemicals.
• May have multiple floors assigned per shift. May be required to be on call status.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• EXPERIENCE:
  • 4 years of full-time management experience
  • 2 years direct critical care or 3 years experience in a management/supervisory position within the past 5 years
• LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
  • RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
• SKILLS:
  • Knowledge of Respiratory Care provided in critical care setting (approximately 20 critical care beds)
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• EXPERIENCE:
  • 1 year work experience in designated specialist field is highly preferred
