Job Description :

L3Harris is looking for a lead flight test engineer to support our portfolio of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). You will be responsible for planning/coordinating, participating in and leading test events for various unmanned aircraft systems. You will need to work closely with the program team and the customer to ensure This position requires a self-starter with leadership qualities and will operate under general oversight.

Requires in-depth knowledge of UAS. Continental United States (CONUS) and/or Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) travel required.

Essential Functions:

  Work in manufacturing, lab and flight test (field) environments

  Coordination with program leadership and engineering disciplines to establish customer driven flight test objectives.

  Generating comprehensive test briefings, plans, quick looks and reports for stakeholders

  n

• n

  Communicating with various customers and flight test ranges to coordinate test events

• n

  Leading teams of engineers made up of various disciplines in a field environment to achieve test objectives.

  Travel within CONUS and/or OCONUS up to 25% of the time.

  Functionally manage a team of flight test engineers, managing team hiring, assignments, performance reviews

• n

  Proposal work, including generating and reviewing Basis of Estimate (BOE) bids.

• n

  Ability to lift 40 lbs. unassisted or 80 lbs. as part of a two-person team.

Qualifications:

• n

  Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior integration/systems experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.

  Top Secret or TS/SCI Clearance.

  n
n
• n

  5+ years' experience Working knowledge of Unmanned Aerial Systems

• n

  3+ years' experience with FAA and ICAO regulations pertaining to UAS and VFR/IFR flight planning.

  3+ years' experience interfacing with test and training ranges, coordinating support equipment and service requests for test events.

  Excellent organizational skills.

  Strong oral presentation skills.

  Experience using some or all of the following: NGA mapping products, Google Earth Pro, Foreflight, commercial UAS mission planning software (ArduPilot, Piccolo).

  FAA Pilot License (Private or above).

  Cost Account Management (CAM) experience.

In compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role is $119,500 - $222,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
