Assortment Optimization Analyst

This role will play a critical role in establishing new Assortment guidelines and analytics. This role will support a key Enterprise strategy for FY26 around improving the end-to-end process from warehouse through operations. In this role, you will lead a global team of analysts to leverage advanced analytics techniques and tools, focusing on customer-centric analysis, to extract valuable insights and recommendations. Effective communication of these insights to key stakeholders will be essential in driving alignment and facilitating informed decision-making processes.

Job Description

• Experience Required: 5 to 10 years Assortment Optimization experience
• Experience Desired: Retail, Grocery, Category Management, Business Analytics, Data Science, or Statistics
• Experience Required: the ability to interpret complex data sets and financial calculations into actionable recommendations and clearly share with stakeholders
• Education Required: Bachelors Degree
• Experience Desired: MS Excel at expert level, SQL, Python, PowerBI
• Experience Required: Previous experience leveraging customer data platforms such as Dunnhumby
• Experience Desired: 1 - 3 years people leadership experience

Job Responsibilities

• Partner with supply chain, finance and planogram teams to create an end to end set of analytics to support assortment optimization
• Establish standardized processes for Assortment strategy development to ensure consistency and effectiveness
• Implement tools and frameworks to streamline
• Facilitate cross-functional workshops and meetings to gather insights and input for assortment planning.
• Collaborate with merchants and other functional departments to leverage diverse perspectives and expertise, ensuring the development of the most effective and comprehensive strategic plans.
• Monitor and evaluate the execution of assortment plans to ensure they are delivering desired results.
• Utilize advanced data analysis methodologies to analyze sales data, extract valuable customer insights, and thoroughly examine market trends. Identify opportunities to drive actionable insights.
• Develop predictive models to forecast assortment performance and predict shifts in consumer behavior. Utilize predictive analytics to drive the business, ensuring strategic alignment with evolving market dynamics.
• Implement rigorous performance monitoring mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of plans and recommendations. Track key performance indicators to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Craft detailed reports and compelling presentations to effectively communicate analytical findings, insights, and recommendations to senior management and key stakeholders. Drive alignment and facilitate strategic decision-making
• Set the strategic vision and cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team,
• Provide various training opportunities and initiatives to motivate, inspire, and challenge team members, fostering their growth and professional development.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in analytics and category management, and provide guidance to team members on adopting relevant tools and methodologies
• Collaborate closely with Merchandising, Space, Operations, and various other functional departments to align category efforts with broader business objectives and strategies.
