Mammography Technologist Position

Optum is on the lookout for a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our dedicated team. This position involves maintaining the highest level of patient care while performing mammographic imaging to aid in accurate diagnoses. Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure accurate anatomical orientation and proper identification for all mammographic images.
• Exhibit expertise in conducting all mammography procedures and operating relevant equipment.
• Welcome and assist patients, documenting their history and entering information into our electronic medical records system.
• Gather mammographic images following established guidelines.
• Manage logs and process paperwork for biopsies, maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Uphold cleanliness and organization within the mammography suite, including stocking medical supplies.
• Participate in the accreditation process for the American College of Radiology (ACR) and maintain CPR certification.
• Monitor patient vital signs throughout examinations and provide support as needed.
• Provide instruction and mentorship to new team members.
• Deliver outstanding patient experiences through effective communication and guidance on procedures and follow-up steps.
• Collaborate closely with radiologists and healthcare team members, ensuring patient care is seamless.

What You Bring:

• ARRT (M) certification
• Diagnostic Mammography certification or commitment to obtain within 180 days
• Experience with electronic medical records

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiography, Radiation Therapy, or Nuclear Medicine
• One or more years of experience as a general radiologic technologist
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR systems

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for long durations
• Capable of lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Able to assist patients weighing up to 300 pounds
• Vision correctable to 20/20 for operating equipment and reviewing images

Pay and Benefits: The hourly pay for this position ranges from $28.27 to $50.48, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a 401k retirement plan and opportunities for continuing education. A $10,000 sign-on bonus is available for external candidates!
