$34-38/hr

Will Train on 1st shift. Must be comfortable moving to a swing shift after training.

Train on day shift (6am-2:30pm Monday-Friday)

Electrical Technician Job Description:

-Troubleshooting ladder logic, ability to read ladder logic and identify electrical device on equipment that is causing issues.

-PLC5 RS Logic

-Proximity switches, limit switches, VSD, 480V motors (AC)

-Troubleshooting 480V motors - ability to wire motors

• Must demonstrate the ability to comply with all plant PPE requirements and safety protocols.

• Must possess the skills and abilities to work autonomously while conducting routine electrical tasks.

• Familiar with the handling, operation and safe use of all types of electrical equipment including motors, generators, transformers, rectifiers, switches, circuit breakers, relay, control equipment, communication equipment, electronic and fluid controls, power generation, transmission and distribution system, instruments, panel boards, replacement parts and supplies, wire and cable, insulating materials, solder, paint, etc.

• Safe and efficient use of electrical maintenance tools and equipment including electrical testing and measuring equipment.

Top Skills:

• Working knowledge on PLCs, ladder logic, Motor, proximity switches, limit switches, VSD, 480V motor, RS Logic

• Experience working in heavy industrial environments (Steel, Aluminum, Nuclear)

• Experience working on overhead cranes

• 3-5+ years of experience in heavy industrial environment

• Previous experience in Navy (nuclear), foundry, paper mill, aluminum

Work Environment

Very heavy industrial environment - dirty, non-climate controlled. Some areas are extremely hot due to equipment running and outdoor climate.

Dress Code: Steel toes, Hardhat, safety glasses, ear plugs (any additional PPE depending on department)

This is an example of a rotating shift schedule (Dupont/swing shift). Not everyone starts their shift on a Monday (this is just an example). The shifts are 7-7. If working day shift, then it would be 7am-7pm. If working nights then it would be 7pm-7am.

• Monday – Thursday (dayshift)

• 7 days off

• Friday-Monday (nightshift)

• 3 days off

• Friday – Sunday (dayshift)

• 1 day off

• Tuesday – Thursday (nightshift)

• 3 days off

There are times where we need more staff members on a day off so the candidate must be comfortable with having to work a mandatory overtime.

The option of straight days and rotating shift depends on the hiring manager and department needs. We communicate with the candidate in the beginning that they could end up on a straight day shift or rotating shift schedule when hired. Straight day shift is from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.
