Maintenance Electrician

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine electrical and electronic preventative maintenance on various mill equipment to ensure optimal operation.
• Handle the repair, modification, and upkeep of diverse electrical and electronic systems.
• Perform tasks such as wiring circuits, replacing components, and fixing electronic devices effectively.
• Utilize multiple instruments, including multi-meters and Meggers, to conduct thorough test readings.
• Stay updated on technical advancements and equipment designs by participating in relevant training sessions.
• Work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Commit to maintaining high safety standards, wearing protective equipment, and completing all required training.
• Undertake additional tasks as assigned to support the team.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Basic skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic are essential.
• Strong foundation in electrical fundamentals is necessary.
• Proficiency in 3-phase and single-phase power distribution systems, motor controls, wiring, and troubleshooting is required.
• Experience working with 480-volt power and logic circuits is a must.
• Excellent computer, mathematical, analytical, and planning skills are critical.
• Able to proficiently read and follow electrical schematics without supervision.
• Familiarity with machine control systems, including troubleshooting complex systems, is a plus.
• Understanding of the functionalities of various controllers and able to differentiate between pneumatic and electronic control systems.
• Experience interpreting the signal path through control circuits is beneficial.
• A combination of relevant education and hands-on experience will be considered.
• Must be eligible to work legally in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Ability to commit to a 12-hour rotating schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Willingness to be available for emergency call-ins as necessary.
• A strong team player who contributes effectively.
• Openness to cross-train and acquire new skills.
• Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with VFD drives.
• Knowledge of PLCs and ability to interpret PLC logic in troubleshooting scenarios.
