Immediate Hiring Machine Operator - Bakery

Join our team as a Machine Operator in the Bakery Department, where you will be responsible for setting up, monitoring, and changing over food processing equipment to create delicious pizzas. As part of a dynamic team, you will operate mixing machines, filling machines, and baggers, and switch between roles, including operating a mixer, filler, and grinding machine.

Responsibilities:

• Set up, monitor, and change over food processing equipment to produce pizzas.
• Operate mixing machines, filling machines, and baggers in the bakery department.
• Switch between operating a mixer, filler, and grinding machine while working in teams of 3-4.
• Scoop cauliflower into a grinding machine and mix with other materials to form dough.
• Change and monitor speed, temperature, smart scale weights, and vibration for baggers.
• Read and interpret batch tickets to make dough.
• Weigh and add specific amounts of raw materials and starches to each batch.
• Operate a tumbler to mix materials with specific starches, flour, and eggs 2-3 days a week.
• Monitor temperatures, speed, durations, and make adjustments as needed.
• Perform visual and quality inspections.
• Handle basic repairs using hand and power tools.
• Lift up to 50 lbs as required.

Essential Skills:

• Experience working within a foods GMP environment.
• Proficient in machine operating, making adjustments, and clearing jams.
• Experience with baggers, wrappers, films, cartoners, mixers, and fillers.
• GMP experience necessary.
• Ability to conduct troubleshooting.

Work Environment:

You will work on the production floor within the toppings department, which includes a colder environment on one side and a warmer bakery side. The facility is clean, organized, and has a pleasant pizza aroma. Ambient temperatures range between 40F and 45F. Work shifts include Monday to Saturday, with Saturdays mandatory if scheduled. Safety shoes (slip-resistant) are required from day one, and all candidates must adhere to safety protocols including wearing smocks, hair nets, beard nets, hearing protection, hard hats, safety glasses, and non-slick shoes. The work environment requires flexibility to work in various areas as needed, and all team members must be able to handle a fast-paced environment.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Manteno, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
