Machine Operator - 2nd Shift

As a Machine Operator on the 2nd shift, you will be responsible for producing food colors according to approved formulations and procedures while meeting production goals. You will operate various equipment including seed extractors, cookers, filtering presses, pumps, mixing equipment, evaporators, and forklifts. You will also maintain housekeeping and sanitation standards in the production and warehouse areas and be involved in shipping and receiving tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment including seed extractors, cookers, filtering presses, pumps, mixing equipment, evaporators, and forklifts.
• Maintain housekeeping and sanitation of the production and warehouse areas.
• Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including loading and unloading of trucks.
• Conduct in-process lab tests using scales, spectrometers, glassware, and pH meters.
• Handle chemicals such as caustics and acids safely.
• Prepare product samples and complete appropriate documentation.
• Complete E1 transactions accurately.
• Collaborate with team members and leadership, while operating mainly independently.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of machine operating experience at the same company.
• 2+ years of general production work at the same company.
• Ability to work independently.
• Experience in machine operating, packaging, and troubleshooting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Forklift certification.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience working in a production environment.
• Comfortable working with chemicals and hot materials.
• Physical ability to climb stairs and ladders and maintain coordination and balance while handling up to 60 lbs. of materials continuously.

Work Environment

The 2nd shift hours are 2pm - 10:30pm Monday through Thursday, and 12pm - 8:30pm on Friday. The work environment is climate-controlled and follows GMP standards, requiring hair nets, beard nets, smocks, steel toes, and safety glasses.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Port Washington, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $54080.00/yr. Health, dental, vision insurance 401k match PTO

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Milwaukee, WI.
